Using Visual Doppler Effects to Deduce Image Velocities

چکیده
This paper presents preliminary work on the development of a new method of calculating image motion elds based on visual doppler eeects. It is inspired from the use of doppler eeects in Radar. Unlike Radar, one cannot`send out' special signals of known frequencies into an image to measure velocities. It is the image itself that provides the (highly variable) frequency signals. However, what one can do isìook across' an image in various directions at known velocities, i.e. we can impose a known velocity onto an image and observe the changes in frequency information. From this one can deduce the velocities present in an image.

Estimation of Ocean Current Velocity near Incheon using Radarsat-1 SAR and HF-radar Data
This paper presents the results of the ocean surface current velocity estimation using 6 Radarsat-1 SAR images acquired in west coastal area near Incheon. We extracted the surface velocity from SAR images based on the Doppler shift approach in which the azimuth frequency shift is related to the motion of surface target in the radar direction. The Doppler shift was measured by the difference bet...
متن کاملISAR Image Improvement Using STFT Kernel Width Optimization Based On Minimum Entropy Criterion
Nowadays, Radar systems have many applications and radar imaging is one of the most important of these applications. Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) is used to form an image from moving targets. Conventional methods use Fourier transform to retrieve Doppler information. However, because of maneuvering of the target, the Doppler spectrum becomes time-varying and the image is blurred. Joi...
متن کاملImaging the carotid bifurcation using continuous-wave Doppler-shift ultrasound and spectral analysis.
A non-invasive method is described for visualizing the carotid bifurcation using a continuous-wave Doppler-shift technique simultaneously with spectral analysis of the blood velocities from all parts of the vessel lumen. The system is directional so that arteries can be visualized in the presence of signals from adjacent veins. The technique uses a transducer which is attached to a position-sen...
متن کاملJust Noticeable Difference Estimation Using Visual Saliency in Images
Due to some physiological and physical limitations in the brain and the eye, the human visual system (HVS) is unable to perceive some changes in the visual signal whose range is lower than a certain threshold so-called just-noticeable distortion (JND) threshold. Visual attention (VA) provides a mechanism for selection of particular aspects of a visual scene so as to reduce the computational loa...
متن کاملElastic characterization of porous bone by ultrasonic method through Lamb waves
The object of this research is to characterize the porous bones by an ultrasonic method using Lamb waves. In recent years, the characterization of such materials has attracted many authors and takes a perfect place in the field of medicine. It requires the development of more efficient technology for getting the necessary quality and security. This paper aims to exploits the dispersion curves o...
